Is "Project X" really part of the Polkadot eco-system? Print

Polkadot is a decentralized network and any project can decide to build on it. There is no central authority to approve or confirm this.
The websites polkaproject.com and dotspot.io list many projects that are building on Polkadot, but those are community websites, so we cannot guarantee their accuracy.
When projects say they "partnered with Polkadot" they probably mean one of two things:
- They either received a grant from Web3 Foundation to build tools or services that benefit the Polkadot network or eco-system. You can verify which projects received grants here: https://github.com/w3f/General-Grants-Program/blob/master/grants/accepted_grant_applications.md
- They have the intention to run their project on Polkadot - e.g. as a parachain. There are only a limited number of parachain slots, so projects will have to bid for them in auctions once the time comes.
