It's important to highlight that the duration of the locking period of your balance depends on the conviction lock you chose when you delegated your vote, not the conviction used by your delegate. For example, if you delegate with a 1x conviction and your delegate votes with a 6x conviction, your balance will be locked for a duration equivalent to a 1x conviction.

‼️ IMPORTANT

When you delegate, your funds are locked for as long as you delegete. After you undelegete, your conviction period starts. In means that if you delegated with 2x multiplier, your funds will be locked for 14 days after you undelegate.

How to undelegate

In this guide, we remove delegation on Kusama, but the process is the same for Polkadot.

1. Open the Nova Wallet app. Navigate to the Vote tab at the bottom of the screen and tap "Your delegations":

2. Here, you'll see all your delegates. Tap on the one to undelegate:

3. Tap "Revoke" to remove your delegation:

4. Select some or all tracks to undelegate. Review the details of the transaction and confirm it to undelegate your vote.

‼️ IMPORTANT

If you delegated with any multiplier but 0.1x, your funds will not be unlocked immediately. After you undelegete, your conviction period starts in accordance with the multiplier you used to delegate. You will need to unlock your funds separately after your conviction period ends.
