How to transfer funds
⛔️ READ THIS FIRST!
Most exchanges don't support cross-chain transfers!
If you are sending to an exchange, make sure you select the token on its native chain in Step 2 and send it to the same destination chain in Step 4.
If you select the wrong options when sending to an exchange, your funds could be lost!
Read this article to learn how to safely transfer your tokens from your wallet to your exchange account.
Follow these simple steps to transfer funds from one account to another:
1. From the main page of your wallet, click on the "Send" icon:
2. Now, you can select the tokens you want to transfer:
3. In the dropdown menu, you'll find the same tokens but from different blockchains. Choose the tokens and the blockchain from which you want to send the funds.
For example, if we search for KSM, we see that we have KSM on various chains, like KSM on Kusama, KSM on Kusama Asset Hub, KSM on Karura, and so on:
4. After selecting the token, you must choose the destination chain. If you are sending funds to an exchange or a custodial wallet, please make sure that the destination supports the origin chain. Otherwise, the funds might be lost:
ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW
Subwallet supports the Polkadot-Kusama bridge!
This means that you can trasfer DOT or KSM from Polkadot Asset Hub to Kusama Asset Hub and vice versa.
Simply select the token (DOT or KSM) on the appropriate chain (Polkadot or Kusama Asset Hub) and the destination chain accordingly in the steps below.
For example, here we've selected to transfer KSM on Kusama Asset Hub to Polkadot Asset Hub:
5. If you're viewing "All accounts" at the top of the screen, you'll need to select the account you want to send funds from in the "From" dropdown menu:
Otherwise, if you have a specific account selected at the top of the screen, you won't have this step:
6. It's time to enter the destination account and paste the address into the "To" section. If you want to send tokens between your accounts or you have accounts in your address book, click the "book" icon to select one of them. You can also click the "QR" icon to scan the recipient's account QR code:
7. Now, type in the amount you want to transfer, or click "Max" to transfer the full amount (after transaction fees subtracted), and then click "Transfer":
8. Finally, click "Transfer."

Always double-check before clicking "Approve"!
Blockchain transactions are irreversible, so make sure the details of the transaction are correct, especially the destination account.
The transfer confirmation page will appear, allowing you to review the transaction details. Click "Approve" to confirm the transaction.
If you're performing a cross-chain transfer, this screen will also display the sender (origin) and the destination network, along with a notice that additional fees will be deducted on the destination chain. The estimated fee shown refers to the transaction fee on the sender chain:
9. Finally, once you click "Approve", you'll see the confirmation page. If you click "Back to home," you'll be taken back to the wallet's main page:
If you click "View transaction," the transaction details will be displayed. You can click on "View on explorer" to see the transaction on a block explorer:
Alternative method
There's another way to send funds that is very similar to what was described in the previous section.
1. From the main page, click on the token you want to send:
2. On the next screen, you'll see the various chains (from the enabled networks) where this token may exist.
If you're in the "All accounts" view, this shows the token's distribution across all your accounts. If you view a single account, the balances shown are for this particular account:
3. Then click on the "Send" icon, and follow the instructions in the previous section to send your tokens:
