How to receive funds
All you need to receive funds in one of your accounts is the account's address and a little attention to ensure that the funds are sent on the intended chain.
1. From Subwallet's main page, click on the "Get address" icon:
2. A list of available assets will appear, where you can search for the asset you want to receive.
Here, make sure to select the appropriate origin chain and the correct token type (such as native DOT or liquid DOT). These are written in detail in the token's description and are signified by the small icon on the DOT token logo:
ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW
An account address is always the same within a given chain, regardless of the token you are sending. However, address formats vary between chains. The same account may have different address representations depending on the chain selected.
When sending or receiving tokens, it's important to select the correct chain to ensure the wallet or exchange recognizes the address format and the tokens arrive correctly. Some wallets or exchanges may reject address formats from a different chain, or funds may be sent to the wrong chain if the network is not selected properly.
3. If you have different accounts, you need to select one of them:
4. After choosing your account, a QR code will be displayed. Additionally, you can copy your address account to the clipboard by clicking on the "copy address" icon.
From this screen, you can also click "View on explorer" to see your account details on Subscan:
5. If you copied the address, paste it into the sending app or share it with your counterparty. Otherwise, you or your counterparty can scan the QR code using a mobile app.
With the Subwallet mobile app, you can share your public address in different ways, such as via email or messaging apps.
Alternative method
There is another way to receive funds that is very similar to what was described in the previous section.
1. From the main page, click on the token you want to receive:
2. On the next screen, you will see the price and chart of the DOT token, different functionalities, and the various chains (from the enabled chains) where this token may exist.
If you are in the "All accounts" view, this is the token's distribution on all your accounts. If you are viewing a single account, the balances shown are for that particular account.
Click on the "Get address" icon:
3. Then follow the instructions in the previous section to send your tokens.
The only difference is that when you click to choose the origin chain and token type to receive, the list of available chains is filtered for the token you selected previously:
