In this article, we provide instructions on how to send funds from your Polkawallet accounts to other accounts on the same network. If you are interested in transferring tokens cross-chain, please check this article.

ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW

If you have any questions about receiving funds in Polkawallet or run into any issues and require further assistance, feel free to ask our AI chatbot or contact us.

Alternatively, you can also search Polkawallet's documentation or contact their team directly through email, and receive specialized assistance from the team that developed the wallet.

How to send funds

To send funds from one of your accounts, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the "Assets" page and select the account you want to send funds from.

2. Tap on the token you want to send. In our example, since we are on the Polkadot network, we only have DOT to select from.

3. On the balance breakdown page that opens up, tap on "Transfer"

4. On this page, you need to enter the details of the transfer.

First, enter the destination address. You have several options to do that.

a. Tap on the "To Address" text field and then click on the little "contacts" icon on the right.

This will open a new page with your address book, which by default includes all your accounts. Select the one you want to send your tokens to.

b. Tap on the QR icon on the top right. This will open up your phone's camera to scan the QR code of the destination address.

c. Tap on the "To address" text field and manually type the destination address (not recommended)

5. Then tap on the "Amount" field to enter the amount you want to send. You can enter it manually or click on the "Max" button to send the maximum transferable balance.

ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW

The maximum transferable balance is determined automatically based on the following factors:
- if the account has any locked or reserved balance
- the estimated transaction fees (which are substracted from the available balance)
- whether you have enabled the "keep-alive" button (enabled by default)

6. You can turn off the "keep-alive" protection by toggling the corresponding button. "keep-alive" prevents you from accidentally sending enough funds to drop the account's balance below the Existential Deposit (ED) and reap it. You should leave this enabled unless you intend to send all funds out of your account.

7. Once you have filled out all the details, tap on "Make Transfer". In the next screen, you'll be presented with the details of the transfer. Review them carefully, especially the destination address, and then click "Submit".

ℹ️ GOOD TO KNOW

If you want to add a tip for the validator to increase the transaction's priority, you can set that by tapping on "Advanced Options".

In almost all cases you don't need to use a tip.
