How to send funds with PolkaGate

On the same network

1. Click on the extension icon next to your URL bar. If you've set a login password, you'll need to enter it and unlock the wallet first:

2. Click on the account you want to send funds from. Make sure you have the right network and token selected. In this guide, it's KSM on Kusama, but the steps are the same for DOT on Polkadot. Then, click "Send" on the bottom:

3. The extension will open in a new tab. Enter the amount you want to send manually or click one of the buttons next to it:

  • "All amount" will show the maximum amount you can send, minus the network fee. Using this option will result in the sender account being reaped.
  • "Max amount" will show the largest amount you can send without your account balance dropping below the existential deposit.

You can also see here the network fee you will pay. This network fee is deducted from your transferable balance:

4. Enter the recipient address. You can either pick one of your accounts in the extension or paste any account address. By default, your transfer will be sent on the same network (in this example, Kusama):

5. Click "Next." Review all the details, enter your account password and click "Confirm" to sign the transaction:

6. You will see your transaction being processed for a few seconds, and then completed:

7. You've sent your funds out! Click "Done" if you want to send more or click "Close tab" to close the PolkaGate tab.

Cross-chain

⛔ READ THIS FIRST!

Most exchanges don't support cross-chain transfers!

If you are sending to an exchange on a different chain, transfer it as described below to your own account first, then make a regular transfer (as described above) on the same network to the exchange account.

If you select a different network when sending to an exchange, your funds
could be lost!
